Chinese ding ware bowl sold for $2.2 million

A rare "Ding" bowl from the Song dynasty in China sold for $2.2 million at a Sotheby's auction.
(Sotheby's / March 20, 2013)
So if you haven't heard it by now, apparently there was a Ding Ware bowl which was only bought for $3, had been sold for USD2.2 Million  (Source from LA Times).  One must wonder how in the world a bowl would ended up worth so much.  Well, guess in the world of auctions anything can happen.  Just like the painting of The Card Players, which was also sold at the price of $267 Million.  But why am I suddenly blogging about this topic?  Well, since I'm also currently in the line of antiques.  I too posses a bowl similar to the one above, and hopefully one day it will reach $2.2 Million as well. Have a nice day!

Bad day in school

I went and fetch Esther from school today.  And apparently, she didn't had a good time due to some misunderstanding which I believe.  She was so upset when I waited for her by her class.  All of her friends, told me she cried and of course while we were in the car I asked her what has happened.  Apparently after I listen to her story, I told her everything is going to be fine.
Every daddy, wouldn't want her little girl to get hurt in any way.  So I did, what I believe all other daddy would do.  Cheer her up and make her feel she's special.  So after we parked our car, I brought her to the lower ground of the car park and told her we are going to a magical place.  And she start to fill her head with imagination thinking we're going into a secret cave only for princess.  After going one round, we arrive on a stage. I continue to let her imagination flow, as she dance around the stage making up her own fairy tale story.
And with that, she totally forgotten what had just happen in school and couldn't wait to tell mummy what she just did.  Tomorrow will be another day, and most likely she will have another adventure of her own.  I'm just glad that I was able to be cheer up my little princess,  when she needed it.  Will probably stop now, as I have yet to take my shower.  And yes, I'm still blogging on my tab and I foresee more post from here.  You have a nice day now!

Bluetooth Keyboard for Note 10.1

Ok, as you all have known from  my previous post I was looking for a keyboard for my tab.  After looking through a few selection, this one was probably the cheapest I've seen being sold here in Malaysia.  As there was another "Aluminium Like" Bluetooth Keyboard, no doubt it may look cool but some of the comments I saw whereby the tab actually fell off the dock.  So I ended up getting this instead.  Typing on this may need getting used to as the keyboard is not as easy as I thought it would be like on a regular keyboard.  Plus certain keys are not where they are supposed to be.  But never the less, I'll do a video review on this soon.

Apart from that, everything is good, and it wasn't too difficult to pair.  And maybe the design was not as nice as another model, but I'm quite satisfied with this model.  I'm currently using this keyboard to blog now, which I think it's ok.  Anyway, really need to do a video on this as it is easier to explain in terms of the pros and cons. Till then, have a nice day.

Blood Donation Drive

Back in 6th April 2005
Ok, so last Sunday the church had a blood donation drive and of course, yours truly went and gave blood as well.  This is the second time that I actually gave blood in my life.  First time was back in 2005, which I think I should have it recorded somewhere in my album.  Never the less, I went with Ketam that time to actually helped out a friend who's grandma needed blood.  So yours truly went and buat kerja rakyat, and be a man to do the right thing.
The first time was actually a good experience for me, considering that the nurse wasn't able to find my vein where she had to poke the second time for the blood to flow.  Because halfway while I was donating it actually stopped flowing.  And Ketam had a blast making fun of me and renamed me the guy who had to be punctured twice to donate blood.  Never the less all is good.
Jeremy and I before going in
So, during the second attempt in donating blood I was pretty much cool about it.  Whereby, I went inside and started munching on the goodies that was before Rev. Pau decided to step in and stopped me from having some more as it is to prevent me from high blood pressure or something like that.  So I stopped taking food, and looked at him.  As it was kinda hard to decipher if he was actually telling the truth or joking.  Never the less, I stopped taking the goodies and sat quietly while waiting for my turn to be punctured once again.
Jeremy is actually a first timer, as he's just passed his 16th birthday (dang I feel old as I'm twice his age now) and wanted to donate as well.  Because previously he told me he wanted to give only if I give first.  Because registration was last week, I asked him to sign up but he said he's under age.  But this week, we found out that those people who are under 18 can actually donate blood but that is if and only if got consent from his parents first.  So probably the youngest dude there to give blood, he inspired his peers to donate blood in the future.  So all is good.
But this time at least I was not required to punctured twice due to the fact the vein on my left hand was undetectable.  So decided to move to my right arm and finally able to find it.  So it was all good.  After that, due to safety measure, Deluxe had to drive back instead of me.  Just to make sure I was all right, but had a great lunch after that at Chef Special in Cold Storage.  That's all for now, currently trying to survey which bluetooth keyboard is better for my tab.  As for the coming few months, I will be busy doing a lot of typing and may need to work on my tab once in a while.  So you guys have a great one.

Back to writing

Ok.  After so many weeks of being absent, I must really make it a point to start writing again.  Some may say must post quality post instead of quantity.  One main reason why the delay, as for the past few weeks been really "lazy" in a sense whereby I don't really manage my time properly.  Hence ended up doing something else, instead of something that I wanted to do.  Never the less here is something I am going to post today.

Uncle Buttons whom I've not seen over 14 years
Last Saturday, Esther has finally managed to meet the person responsible for teaching me all about ballooning.  Apparently after meeting him again, well you could say that twisting balloons  hobby has came back and apparently Deluxe has managed to get hold of the type of balloons he was using.  Never the less, after years of not practicing, I was still a bit rusty and twisting was still a little bit messy.  But it was all good, as Esther really enjoyed watching how Uncle Buttons twist balloons.

I remembered selling these balloons right after I knew how to get them done, and during the weekends where I would go to public places and just twist these balloons and gave them away freely.  As that time I was still working part time in my family business, and people would just buy them from me, well basically they were supposedly to fund my weekend projects.  One time while I was having lunch with a few friends in Pizza hut, and a kid who so by happened to be sitting in front of our table was feeling well "active".  Back then, I brought these balloons and my handy small pump with me wherever I would go.  Anyway, I remembered pulling up one balloon and twisted a dog for him and gave it to him to pretty much "settle down".

The next thing I knew, children were starting to surround our table, and I pumping away the balloons while my friends helped distribute them.  And children were getting excited, plus the joy on their faces were priceless.  It went on for quite a while, before the waitress went and cleared our table and placed another pizza for us, as a complimentary lunch as indirectly thanking us for doing it.  Never the less it was a good experience, and eventually I stopped doing that after I couldn't get better quality balloons again.  As I tried the cheaper ones, they couldn't last long and hence I decided not to sell them anymore because of the poorer quality.

Anyway, maybe one of these days when I have the time will probably go do these "kangtao" again.  As basically Uncle Buttons was actually the person who also sometimes during weekends will give out free balloons.  But for now, probably I will start practicing again my skills before heading out and probably the person whom will enjoy most is Esther.  Ah well all is good.
