#Hotlink Free Basic Internet Plan Review

Ported from Digi to Hotlink
2 days ago, I went and port my number from Digi to #Hotlink latest plan which gives out Free Basic Internet.  After reading a few sites that gave it's review I decided to jump ship to Hotlink.  So I went to the Maxis Center at Kenyalang Park, where I was able to process my application in order to port my number from Digi to Hotlink.  (The one in Saberkas was not able to do it for me, so don't bother going there).
Anyway, the whole process took less about 10 minutes, where I needed to give a photocopy of my IC as well as pay them RM10 for the so called processing fees.  But the person told me that, this RM10 will be credited back once the porting is successful.  After that they gave me a new sim card, and told me it will take about 1 day for me to switched over to Hotlink.  But before that, I had to double check with them that I'm going to port to the new #hotlink plan that comes with the Free Basic Internet.

Installing Google Apps Playstore for Huawei G520-T10 without flashing

It's been 2 days while I was trying to see how to install Google Apps and Contact Sync into this phone, and I've finally managed to do so without having to flash the phone because I didn't want the hassle to write to Huawei just to send me a bootunloader code. Never the less, this is how I did it in 3 simple steps :-

Root Your Phone
1. Download and install SRS Root to root this phone.
2. Run SRS Root
3. Connect your phone to your PC
4. Run SRS Root
5. Select Root Device (All Method)
6. Follow the instruction until it ask you to check your phone to select which Root Apps you need to install.
A) Select Install SuperSU (as SuperUser didn't work on this phone), and tap on the name that shows under the line (I got Boromir. Think it will generate a random name from Lord of the Rings).
B) Once it gives you a success message on your phone click OK button in SRS Root, and wait for it to finish removing the app.
7. After completing it, Reboot your phone.

Install Root Explorer
1. Download Root Explorer
2. Copy Root Explorer apk to your phone.
3. Install Root Explorer on your phone.
4. Run Root Explorer and grant permission to Super SU for this App.

Install Google Apps On Your Phone
Ok for this segment here, I need to clarify in order to prevent any confusion for other models of Huawei G520.  Because G520-T10 uses Android version 4.2.1, I've extracted 6 files from Google Apps 20121212 which are the following files.

  • GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk
  • GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk
  • GoogleLoginService.apk
  • GoogleServicesFramework.apk
  • OneTimeInitializer.apk
  • Phonesky.apk (this is google play)
Attach the files for the 6 files you can download here.  For other Android version please visit here [Rootzwiki] to download the google apps for your Android version.  Ok let's get started.

1. Copy all 6 files to your phone.
2. Open Root Explorer
3. Copy 6 files \System\App
4. Reboot your phone.

And that's it!  You should be able to run Google Play store, and sync your calendar and contacts with your Gmail account.  Hope this helps!

Flash Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman Jelly Bean 4.2.2

You can now install CM10.2 aka Jelly Bean 4.3 onto our phones. It's still currently in alpha testing stage, but so far everything seems to be working well. Installation is similar, you can download the rom here CM10.2 Rom. For more details you can check out the link here :- {Mini/MiniPro/Active/Live}[DEV][JB 4.3][CM10.2] LegacyXperia
Ok.  So after going through so many post as it was all over the place, I was finally able to flash my spare phone Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman to Jelly Bean using Legacy Xperia Rom.  Due to the fact that Sony decided to dropped the idea of upgrading the 2011 series to Jelly Bean so it got stuck with Ice Cream Sandwich instead.  Anyway, I do not mind the fact where the phone is not on the list of upgrade but never the less, having Jelly Bean would be kinda cool actually.  Do take note that this rom also supports Sony Xperia Active, Xpria Arc S, Xperia Mini, Xperia Mini Pro, Xperia Neo, Xperia Neo V, Xpreia Pro and Xperia Ray. So without further adieu, let's get straight to it.

AdHitProfits Make Money Through Revenue Shares

We have set up a long term Cash Bonanza for you
A friend of mine introduced Ad Hit Profits program to me a few days ago, where you actually make money through revenue sharing.  Each share cost $45, and will mature at $56.25.  Coming from a background where I used to sort of "invest" in HYIP programs, where at the end of the day was pretty much like a ponzi scheme.  So here I was being a little bit skeptical on how this would be different from others.  So I began to look at how the whole system work, and how they generate revenue, which are listed below.
- Directory Listings & Website Traffic (Included In Your $45 Purchase)
- Forum Advertising Services (Sold Separately)
- 728x90 LeaderBoard Ads (Sold Separately)
- 125x125 Banner Ads (Sold Separately)
- 468x60 Banner Ads (Sold Separately)
- Vacation Mode (Sold Separately)
- Share Auto-Repurchase (Sold Separately)
- EzyBonds Shared Transaction Fees (Sold Separately)

Sofia the First

Sofia, is a little girl with a commoner's background until her mom marries the King and suddenly she is royalty. With the help of the three fairies in charge of the Royal Training Academy, Sofia learns that looking like a princess isn't all that hard but behaving like one must come from the heart. Written by Anonymous - Source
Why suddenly this blog post?  Well, Esther was watching this cartoon on the 27th May 2013 about 9PM and she fell in loved with it immediately.  Apart from Mr.Cedric of course.  She managed to catch the repeat of this movie the following day, and boy was she really into it.  So the same night, she was waiting patiently till 9pm thinking the next episode was going to show but only to be disappointed that it didn't.  As after every cartoon on Disney Junior they kept on playing mini coming soon clips for Sofia the First, till she didn't want to go to bed worried that it will be showing.

So being the daddy that does not like her princess to be disappointed over and over again, I went and did a little search on Astro's guide but found nothing much about it.  But that didn't stopped me from trying to see if I can find any info on the web regarding this.  And I managed to find out apparently there is a series of this which will hopefully reach Malaysia shores by next month.  But from now till then, Youtube mini clips will do for now.

Never the less, will try to head to Speedy and see if I could get a copy of the Once Upon A Princess copy for her, so at least she could watch it over and over again.  Anyway, I would highly recommend this to all of you parents out there who have a little princess at home to get it.  It's actually great that both Deluxe and I went and sit through the whole movie with her.  And they do give moral values, which could be applied to every day living.  Something Disney never failed to do, so I'm pretty happy with it.  Plus there's a lot of singing in them, so be warned if you start humming the tunes as well as you work.  Lol!

Hectic Week

Last week Deluxe had a retreat at Santubong One Hotel, and of course the family get to tag along.  Will blog about it later, as I'm still sorting out the pictures at the moment.  Never the less, it was a busy week after the Go Bald event.  Had to clear up quite a number of back logs, so have a few minutes to spare before I go have my dinner.

Anyway, will do a video log soon as I've finished some major stuff over the weekend.  So do expect that, and as for the time being have a look at this video of "Aku Sudah Botak", a parody version of "Aku Anak Kampung".  Recorded this last Saturday evening with Lowell, Entinio and Aaron.  Working out on the video clip, but for now here's the demo.  Have a nice day!

Thank you all

Ok.  The long final wait is over.  And the total amount raised as of this post is RM4401!  RM400 more than the target I set.  We hit RM4091 on the 12th of May which is exactly 1 month when I started raising funds for this cause.  Never the less, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who have supported me in this cause.

Here I would like to mention a few people who have actually help made this possible.

My eldest brother, who managed to raise RM1470 from his group of friends.  And also kept checking me on how much I have raised all the time, and if I was still far away he kept on pestering his friends to donate.  Guess that’s what family are for.  Thank you so much for helping me for this cause.

Tay Chung Ang also raised RM350 from Inti College Kuching, and my friend Lionel Chen raised RM100 on my behalf.  Thank you so much for the both of you for helping me reached my intended target.

Mclaren’s Restaurant & Pub for posting out the shout out on their Facebook page, to help raise awareness for this Go Bald campaign.

To all my donors from KL, Kuching, Miri, Perth, Brunei, Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia, Labuan, Melacca, & Penang.  Thank you for helping me to raise funds for this cause.  Check out my sponsors page here.

Lastly, the most important person whom kept me going on during this fund raising campaign is my wife Deluxe.  Who kept me going on to the point where I almost gave up, and told me why I need to reach the intended target.   Who also supported me from the beginning till the point of allowing me to get my head shaved.  If it wasn’t for her most likely I will not be bald, as 2-3 days before I had 2nd thoughts in going bald.  And also helping me to convince Esther to allow Daddy to go bald.

This is the 3rd day after going bald.  I finally realized it’s not so much on how I look at myself, but rather how others would look at me.  Of course those who knew me were pretty shocked at first as I did not tell them that I was going bald.  They heard about the Go Bald campaign, and I told them as well to do an annual check up if they have a family history of cancer.  As they say, early detection saves lives.

Never the less, I’m beginning to like this new hair style considering the fact it does really save me a lot of time from looking in front of the mirror.  Never the less, we shall see how it goes. Again I would like to take this opportunity for giving me a chance to make a difference by going bald!  You all have a nice day now!

Donations are closed from Holankia. Thank you all for contributing. If you would still like to contribute, do head over to www.gobald.my for more details. Thank you!

Here are the list of people who have generously donated to me. No amount too big or too small, as every ringgit counts to help kids fight cancer. Go Botak! Because of the tremendous support, I will now be accepting Paypal as a source to receive donations. Please check out Method 4 for more details.
Dear all,
This is to inform that I will be participating in the Go Bald - Help Kids Fight Cancer Campaign this year.  It may seem a bit shocking to those who pretty much knows me, as I'm a very vain person especially when it comes to my hair.  I was inspired by a few people, in the last 2 years to go bald.  So to make long story short, this year will be the year I will go botak.

Candidate for Bandar Kuching P195

Credits of background photo to Jong Fui Fa
Dear fellow Kuching people.  After discussion with everyone I know, and I agree to stand in as a candidate for the upcoming 13th General Election.  As I know running a campaign will take a lot of money, but you don't have to worry I have figured everything out on how to get it done without using much resources apart from the RM5000 deposit.  And of course, just to let you know that someone had offered me USD1.8 Million for the bowl, so I think I should be good to go for this coming election.

Chinese ding ware bowl sold for $2.2 million

A rare "Ding" bowl from the Song dynasty in China sold for $2.2 million at a Sotheby's auction.
(Sotheby's / March 20, 2013)
So if you haven't heard it by now, apparently there was a Ding Ware bowl which was only bought for $3, had been sold for USD2.2 Million  (Source from LA Times).  One must wonder how in the world a bowl would ended up worth so much.  Well, guess in the world of auctions anything can happen.  Just like the painting of The Card Players, which was also sold at the price of $267 Million.  But why am I suddenly blogging about this topic?  Well, since I'm also currently in the line of antiques.  I too posses a bowl similar to the one above, and hopefully one day it will reach $2.2 Million as well. Have a nice day!

Bad day in school

I went and fetch Esther from school today.  And apparently, she didn't had a good time due to some misunderstanding which I believe.  She was so upset when I waited for her by her class.  All of her friends, told me she cried and of course while we were in the car I asked her what has happened.  Apparently after I listen to her story, I told her everything is going to be fine.
Every daddy, wouldn't want her little girl to get hurt in any way.  So I did, what I believe all other daddy would do.  Cheer her up and make her feel she's special.  So after we parked our car, I brought her to the lower ground of the car park and told her we are going to a magical place.  And she start to fill her head with imagination thinking we're going into a secret cave only for princess.  After going one round, we arrive on a stage. I continue to let her imagination flow, as she dance around the stage making up her own fairy tale story.
And with that, she totally forgotten what had just happen in school and couldn't wait to tell mummy what she just did.  Tomorrow will be another day, and most likely she will have another adventure of her own.  I'm just glad that I was able to be cheer up my little princess,  when she needed it.  Will probably stop now, as I have yet to take my shower.  And yes, I'm still blogging on my tab and I foresee more post from here.  You have a nice day now!

Bluetooth Keyboard for Note 10.1

Ok, as you all have known from  my previous post I was looking for a keyboard for my tab.  After looking through a few selection, this one was probably the cheapest I've seen being sold here in Malaysia.  As there was another "Aluminium Like" Bluetooth Keyboard, no doubt it may look cool but some of the comments I saw whereby the tab actually fell off the dock.  So I ended up getting this instead.  Typing on this may need getting used to as the keyboard is not as easy as I thought it would be like on a regular keyboard.  Plus certain keys are not where they are supposed to be.  But never the less, I'll do a video review on this soon.

Apart from that, everything is good, and it wasn't too difficult to pair.  And maybe the design was not as nice as another model, but I'm quite satisfied with this model.  I'm currently using this keyboard to blog now, which I think it's ok.  Anyway, really need to do a video on this as it is easier to explain in terms of the pros and cons. Till then, have a nice day.

Blood Donation Drive

Back in 6th April 2005
Ok, so last Sunday the church had a blood donation drive and of course, yours truly went and gave blood as well.  This is the second time that I actually gave blood in my life.  First time was back in 2005, which I think I should have it recorded somewhere in my album.  Never the less, I went with Ketam that time to actually helped out a friend who's grandma needed blood.  So yours truly went and buat kerja rakyat, and be a man to do the right thing.
The first time was actually a good experience for me, considering that the nurse wasn't able to find my vein where she had to poke the second time for the blood to flow.  Because halfway while I was donating it actually stopped flowing.  And Ketam had a blast making fun of me and renamed me the guy who had to be punctured twice to donate blood.  Never the less all is good.
Jeremy and I before going in
So, during the second attempt in donating blood I was pretty much cool about it.  Whereby, I went inside and started munching on the goodies that was before Rev. Pau decided to step in and stopped me from having some more as it is to prevent me from high blood pressure or something like that.  So I stopped taking food, and looked at him.  As it was kinda hard to decipher if he was actually telling the truth or joking.  Never the less, I stopped taking the goodies and sat quietly while waiting for my turn to be punctured once again.
Jeremy is actually a first timer, as he's just passed his 16th birthday (dang I feel old as I'm twice his age now) and wanted to donate as well.  Because previously he told me he wanted to give only if I give first.  Because registration was last week, I asked him to sign up but he said he's under age.  But this week, we found out that those people who are under 18 can actually donate blood but that is if and only if got consent from his parents first.  So probably the youngest dude there to give blood, he inspired his peers to donate blood in the future.  So all is good.
But this time at least I was not required to punctured twice due to the fact the vein on my left hand was undetectable.  So decided to move to my right arm and finally able to find it.  So it was all good.  After that, due to safety measure, Deluxe had to drive back instead of me.  Just to make sure I was all right, but had a great lunch after that at Chef Special in Cold Storage.  That's all for now, currently trying to survey which bluetooth keyboard is better for my tab.  As for the coming few months, I will be busy doing a lot of typing and may need to work on my tab once in a while.  So you guys have a great one.
